The Platform, may sound too romantic. Nevertheless, it is my belief, people should experience the Platform to understand how important and beautiful it is. It's located 3 km from Corcovado on the corridor of Golfo Dulce; which joins the biggest Mangrove area in Costa Rica.
The Platform is 50 feet above the ground, it stands in the middle of nowhere, and surrounded by the primarily rain forest. This experience will give you a totally different idea of beauty and importance.

The platform tower that stands 50 feet above the ground. Being this high allowed us to feel as though we actually were part of the canopy.. The birds and monkeys traveled passed us throughout the evening into the night and then the traffic and sounds of nature only increased when the morning came..
The experience turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. It began by walking up to the platform, in a remote and beautiful part of the forest above Drake Bay. As we got to the platform we could hear howler monkeys, toucans, and the deafening cicadas all around us. We felt totally immersed, and although we had worried about how we would pass the evening after the sun went down when we were 50 feet up in the air, we were surprised to find ourselves totally content to just sit quietly and look and listen. For probably two hours! The stars and the fireflies were amazing. We checked out a pair of night vision goggles after it got dark and the forest grew quiet. Although it is not luxurious, i had the best night's sleep up in the platform of our entire trip. In the morning we woke up to the sunrise and the birds calling all around us.
